Sometimes, even the best need help
From our previous review articles on Windows 7, one could be under the impression that, unlike the previous versions, Windows 7 is impeccable operating system that carries out tasks flawlessly and in error-free environment. That’s only partially true, since we can’t install all of the programs that improve the speed and reliability in all aspects of work. Software that carries out such tasks goes by the name system or utilities. With it, you will considerably improve and optimize work. The good news is that a lot of versions of some well-known applications, together with some completely new ones, are already compatible with Windows 7. Here are some of the most interesting applications.
Driver Max 5.2 – We mentioned that Windows 7 installs the drivers of the mostly used hardware the moment we install the system on our machine. Nevertheless, new drivers, as time passes by, become available for both old and new devices and, unless you have help, it becomes considerably difficult to keep a close eye on all those updates and changes. Driver Max 5.2 works in Windows 7 environment and will inspect your system to check if all your hardware has the latest drivers installed. If not, it will offer you a list out of which you can choose what to download and install. Another interesting feature we should mention is the possibility to back up the drivers when everything is functioning flawlessly. That way, if you uninstall a driver by mistake or if an unexpected error occurs, you’ll be able to go back to the previous state of the system. The process of backing up and restoring with Driver Max 5.2 is easy and fast.
Everest Ultimate Edition 5.02 – Compared with other software applications that are similar in purpose, this is the real Mount Everest. From one place you get a complete report about the system and all of the hardware and software components in it; you can also run tests on the hardware and compare the results with those from other systems in order to get a complete picture about the might of your machine and its place among others. So far, we’ve witnessed the development of Everest in the same time as the development of the numerous Windows versions. Things haven’t changed with Windows 7. The moment it appeared, the fifth version of Everest supported Windows 7 despite the possibility that this OS might not be in top shape.
Partition Wizard Home Edition 4 – For more efficient management of low-price, bulky hard drives, it’s recommended to create partitions, that is, one partition for the system data, one for the important documents, and another for all your multimedia data, for example. Several years ago, this was a job for a certified IT technician, but now, with a little help from this free tool, anyone can create, delete and manage as many partitions as one would like. Partition Wizard will also help you in classifying the parameters of the partitions, their type, and, if needed, hiding a partition from the prying eyes. It’s intended for the home users, though the business edition is free as well. Both of the versions are compatible with Windows 7.
WinSysClean 2009 – With this complex tool you can locate and neutralize all the malicious and potentially harmful documents that can become a threat to your system. At any time, you have a complete overview of the state of the system and the installed applications. Tasks involving cleaning the system from unnecessary and temporary data are also available to you. This optimizes and improves the speed of the system considerably therefore allowing you to use the full potential of the machine you paid for.
